First Steps First: Unveiling New Infrastructure from Axiom
Being in the vanguard of P2E integration in real world sporting, pushing out the boundaries for how we might engage with our favorite pastimes, is no trivial task. At Axiom we are working tirelessly to build the necessary foundation for projects all over the globe to accelerate the digital gamification of real world sports. Today we’re thrilled to introduce the first piece of that foundation — digital collectible art management (“caching”) — and here’s the best news upfront: The Axiom Caching Portal will allow digital collectors to earn rewards while maintaining full control of their Web3 collectibles in their own wallets.
Below we will explore further how caching fits into the broader scheme of Axiom’s efforts to open new opportunities for sport enthusiasts around the globe.
How We Define “Caching”
Caching is akin to what many in the crypto space might recognize as soft staking; however, it’s crucial to distinguish caching from staking due to both regulatory considerations and community perspectives. When you cache an asset with Axiom, it remains securely in your wallet; you simply register it on our platform to start accruing benefits.
This process offers a significant advantage as it empowers asset holders to earn potential rewards without relinquishing control of their assets. A user’s cached items will continue to accumulate points for as long as the items are maintained in the wallet from which they were cached up to a duration of one year from the start date.
The Process
Clocking in at a minimal three steps, we tailored the Caching process with specific focus on simplicity and ease of use:
1. Wallet Connection
Users connect their digital wallet to the Axiom platform.
2. Asset Registration
Users register their Axiom-eligible collectibles for caching. Our platform evaluates these collectibles based on specific criteria, including rarity and number of Set components, in order to assign reward rates.
In the example below, we have displayed a partner project’s cachable collectibles, GolfN NFT Sets. As you look at the list of possible caching options, you’ll see the GolfN options are organized first by rarity, then by Set type. In this case a full, cachable option either contains all clubs of a specific rarity or all versions of one club type at a specific rarity level. 3. Points Accumulation
Points will then accrue to the user based on the rarity and attributes of the cached item(s). In the image above the leaderboard displays rankings for which users have accumulated the most points. A user’s cached items will continue to accumulate points for up to one year as long as the items are maintained in the wallet from which they were cached. If a user decides to transfer, sell, or post the item on a marketplace for sale, the item will cease accumulating points.
First Round Axiom Partnerships
As part of this initiative, we’ve created exclusive partnerships with several other leading Web3 projects.
- GolfN: Complete Sets and club type Sets of GolfN NFT clubs will be cachable for rewards via the Axiom Portal. For anyone looking to complete their Sets or add missing clubs, Cards and packs can be obtained on Tensor.
- Kanpai Pandas : As part of our collaboration with the Solana-based project Kanpai Pandas, Panda owners will be eligible to mint and cache a complimentary NFT which can earn rewards when cached via our Portal.
- Degenerate Ape Academy: Another leading Solana project, Degen Ape Academy is also grabbing a golf cart headed for the future of Play-to-earn. Ape holders will be eligible to mint and cache a complimentary Axiom-approved NFT which can earn rewards when cached using our Portal.
- Bonk!— Bonk! holders will be eligible to mint and cache a complimentary Axiom-approved NFT which can earn rewards when cached using our Portal.
The criteria for these approvals focused on both the thematic consistency with our platform and the projects’ overall reach and potential to engage a broad and active userbase.
Strategic Implications: Setting the Stage
Axiom’s caching system is designed to reward both comprehensiveness and rarity. The more complete, numerous, and rare your asset collections, the greater your rewards potential over time. As a first concrete step in Axiom’s mission, Caching has the desirable benefit of kickstarting immediate user engagement with both Axiom’s partner projects and our P2E ecosystem as a whole. By implementing this mechanism, we add a formidable underpinning to both the utility and circulation of the forthcoming $GOLF token, laying the groundwork for accelerated expansion.
